Aparca&go was founded in 2009 as the first company to offer its customers the most economical and convenient alternative for parking at the airport.

The adventure begins

Aparca i Vola (park and fly) is born

Aparca i Vola (park and fly) is born

The first name of aparca&go was "aparca i vola". Jaime Escamilla travelled constantly on business and saw first-hand the abusive prices of airport car parks, so he and three friends decided to found aparca i vola. The idea was not only to offer cheaper prices, but also to offer a faster and more convenient parking service than the official car park at Barcelona Airport.

Cruise passenger service

In 2010, with this same goal in mind, we offered the first low-cost parking service for cruise passengers from the port in Barcelona. At present this service is still provided from the Sants car park during the cruise season, from 15th June to 1st October (check the service status for more information).

In 2010, at the height of a rush in passenger traffic, aparcaivola became aparca&go. It was not the first and it won’t be the last time we change the design of our shuttle buses!

After our name change, in 2011 we expanded our car parks to Atocha and Sants train stations. It was the first time we opened a car park in Madrid, and it was a complete success. Barajas was calling us...

We learn from our mistakes

June 2012 saw aparca&go’s first major technological transformation. We worked very hard to launch of ParkingKong in 2014, the first app to help you park in more than 300 public car parks in Madrid and Barcelona. The project didn’t work out, but the positive to come from all that effort was the great IT team that brought the digital content to aparca&go and ended up modernising the entry and exit system to our car parks.

After years of opening new centres, the time came to go even further and offer our customers a VIP quality service. Premium aimed to make life easier for travellers when accessing the transport centres; airports and stations by car. Once there, an aparca&go agent collects the vehicle for them, so they don't waste any time and they arrive relaxed and happy.

The new award-winning Aparca&go app was launched in 2014 and to spread the news, we ran a successful TV campaign. In the ads we asked, “When will we park?” so many times, that the TV3 programme Crackòvia parodied our advert 3 times. You can watch the adverts here.

New centre in Madrid-Barajas airport

For aparca&go it was important to be in airports with the most traffic and one of those was Madrid-Barajas. In 2015 we opened the car park there with a surface area of more than 12,000 m2 and capacity for 500 cars.

The fast lane arrived at Barcelona and Madrid airports, direct access which makes it easier for customers to enter and exit the car park using a code on their mobile. The aim of this implementation was for travellers to no longer have to go through the ticket office and all processes or enquiries would be managed online on the website and the app.

The year of the pandemic was undoubtedly a tough one for the aparca&go family, as we were forced to close our centres for the first time. However, with innovation in the air, we took advantage of the break to develop a product that you had been asking for for a long time, and that, is how aparca&go’s Car Service and ITV were founded. The first garage and ITV service that services your car while you don’t need it and gives you an instant online quote by simply entering your car’s number plate. Hardly anything to do at all.

We have made the most of our time again, and in 2021 we have launched our new image! With it, we have implemented the most technological aspect of the services we offer. In 2022 the pandemic came to an end and the reopening became a reality, although we had to adapt to a "new normal", with very strict security measures. We implemented all the necessary measures: use of masks, disinfection points, very frequent cleaning of common areas and the implementation of a micro-spray disinfection system in the minibuses. Safety first!
