What flights depart from Terminal 1 of Barcelona Airport?

Every day, approximately 90 flights depart from Terminal 1, moving up to 100,000 people, connecting thousands of passengers to destinations on all continents. This modern and efficient terminal facilitates global mobility, offering a wide range of services to ensure a comfortable and pleasant travel experience.
The terminal is divided into four levels organized as follows:
- Level 0: This is the area where flights arrive and where passengers can collect their luggage and check-in.
- Level 1: This corresponds to flight departures. We find boarding areas A, B, and C, which are generally oriented towards aircraft operating in the Schengen area.
- Level 2: Here we find self-check-in machines as well as passport control.
- Level 3: Here are boarding areas D and E, which will allow us to fly outside the European continent. We can also relax, having something to eat in its restaurants and bars.

Early Morning Flights: Departures between 6 am and 12 pm
Who hasn’t had to wake up early to catch an early morning flight? From 6 am to 12 pm, Barcelona Airport receives a large influx of people.
You can go to Paris at 6 am via several airlines, such as Air France, Aeromexico, Delta Air Lines, Gol, Air Serbia, Kenya Airways, China Eastern Airlines, and Vietnam Airlines. Many of these allow connections to farther destinations on different continents.
At this hour, you can also travel to Frankfurt (Germany) with Lufthansa, Air Canada, Etihad Airways, LOT - Polish Airlines, ANA All Nippon Airways, Singapore Airlines, United Airlines, and Oman Air. At 6:10, you can head to the Portuguese capital, Lisbon, on a plane from TAP Air Portugal, Azul, El Al Israel Airlines, Azores Airlines, or United Airlines.
Brussels, Marrakech, Reykjavik, London, Munich, Venice, and Amsterdam are destinations that you can find between 6:40 and 7:10 in the morning. Generally, Iberia and Vueling handle these flights. There are also domestic destinations like Palma de Mallorca, Alicante, La Coruña, Seville, Bilbao, Las Palmas, Málaga, Ibiza, Menorca, or the Spanish capital, managed by the same airlines.
Other departures are available after 7 am until 12 pm to international destinations such as Florence, Zurich, Rome, Berlin, Prague, Genoa, Porto, Nice, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Helsinki, Vienna, Mexico City, Milan, New York, Athens, Newark, Miami, Istanbul, Tel Aviv-Yafo, Basel, and Lyon. Many of these flights are operated by Vueling or Iberia, and in some cases, by national airlines, such as Aeromexico flying to Mexico City and Turkish Airlines flying to Istanbul.
Departures from 12 pm to 6 pm
During this time frame, we find new destinations along with others mentioned earlier, belonging to Spanish territories or European capitals. Other cities include Hamburg, Manchester, Gothenburg, Stuttgart, Algiers, Nantes, Los Angeles, Düsseldorf, or Nuremberg, mostly handled by Vueling and Iberia.
For Los Angeles, you will also see American Airlines and Qatar Airways departing at 1 pm. In the case of New York, there are numerous airline options, including Delta Air Lines, Air France, Aeromexico, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Air Europa, and Virgin Atlantic.
Doha is another attractive destination. Flights depart at 3 pm with Qatar Airways, Iberia, Malaysia Airlines, SriLankan Airlines, and Oman Air. There are also many options for flights to Amsterdam, operated by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Aeromexico, China Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Etihad Airways, Garuda Indonesia, Korean Air, Kenya Airways, Xiamen Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, and Saudia.
If you want to travel to Bogotá (Colombia), the flight departs at 2:05 pm from Terminal 1. The airlines available are Avianca, Air China LTD, Singapore Airlines, and Turkish Airlines. Around this time, there are also flights to Dakar, Brussels, and Cagliari.
At 3:25 pm, there is a flight to Cairo (Egypt) with EgyptAir and TAP Air Portugal. Later, there are departures to Turin, Marseille, Copenhagen, and Bari, along with other European capitals mentioned earlier.
During this time frame, flights continue to Spanish cities such as Madrid, Tenerife, Alicante, Seville, Bilbao, Santander, etc. For the former, it is common to see airlines like American Airlines, Royal Air Maroc, LATAM Airlines, and Qatar Airways, in addition to Iberia and Vueling.
Flights from 6 pm to Midnight
Generally, during this period, flights to cities already mentioned can be seen. There are only a few new destinations such as León (Spain), Boston (USA), Naples (USA), Casablanca (Morocco), Asturias, and Bologna (Italy).
It is normal to see flights to Rome, London, or Paris at different times of the day due to their proximity to Barcelona. There are fewer flights to the American continent because of the great distance to cover. In the United States, there is a greater number of destinations, while in Latin America, you can see destinations like Buenos Aires, Mexico City, and Bogotá.
Breaking News! New Routes from Barcelona Airport
Barcelona Airport has recently incorporated new destinations. Some of these destinations existed before the pandemic but were halted by it.
Istanbul, Turkey
Vueling becomes the only Spanish airline to cover a direct connection with this destination. From October this year until March 2025, this route will be operational with a total of three weekly frequencies on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. From March, Vueling hopes to increase the weekly flights to seven.
Tromsø, Norway
The Arctic Circle has never been so close. Vueling announced its new destination, Tromsø, in Norway, which will be reachable every Saturday starting in late November. This destination will be operational until mid-January, coinciding with the Christmas holidays, the best, and most beautiful time to visit this city.
Ancona, Italy
Starting in November, there will be a new destination to Italy, Ancona, with two weekly flights offered by Volotea.
Shanghai, China
Barcelona will restore its direct flight to Shanghai starting in August. After the pandemic break, Air China will reactivate this destination with three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, using a 300-seat Airbus.
