Seville, first stop of our fifteenth anniversary
Enjoy the cultural wealth, tasty gastronomy and joy of the capital of Seville
A birthday is joy and if we had to choose a Spanish city to represent joy, it would be Seville. Therefore, we want to start this year of celebrations by traveling with you to this city. In the heart of Andalusia, we will find everything we need for a getaway full of culture, art, and gastronomy.
Beyond the emblematic monuments
Plaza de España, La Giralda, the Real Alcázar, the Torre del Oro... They sound familiar to you, right? They are the most emblematic places in the city, but not the only ones that are worth a visit.
We propose an alternative route:
- Barrio de Santa Cruz, one of the most popular neighborhoods to get lost in its streets, discover the famous “patios” overflowing with flowers and wrap yourself in the unmistakable fragrance of orange blossom.
- Avenida de la Palmera, witness to the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. A perfect walk to discover the historic pavilions of great architectural wealth.
- Itálica, a Roman city just 7 km from Seville. Walk through its old streets and be surprised by its mosaics. Did you also know that it was the setting for the Game of Thrones series?
A culinary journey through time and cultures
Seville has witnessed the interaction of various cultures over the centuries. This rich fusion is reflected in its gastronomy, discover it!
La pringá, a classic of Andalusian tapas
This recipe uses leftover meat and sausages from cooking. They are fried with oil and butter and served inside a bun. Delicious and to get your fingers dirty!
Seasoned dogfish always on the table
Cut into cubes, this delicacy is seasoned with different spices such as oregano, garlic, salt and cumin, as well as vinegar and coated in chickpea flour. Fried in olive oil it is so delicious that you will surely repeat it again!
Soldaditos de Pavía
A very curious name for such a simple dish made of strips of cod coated in flour, yeast, salt water and with a touch of saffron. It is usually combined with red peppers, don't miss this dish that is more than two centuries old!
And of course, don’t forget to accompany your meals with a glass of wine from the region, such as a Fino or an Oloroso, a Rebujito or a Tinto de Verano.
Spring in Seville is wonderful
We recommend traveling to Seville in spring, mainly because it is the time of year with the best temperatures, since summer there is too hot.
But also, in the spring of Seville not only do the flowers bloom but also the celebrations! If you decide to travel during these dates, you can enjoy its spectacular Holy Week ( Semana Santa ), dance until you drop at the “Feria de abril” or witness one of its oldest traditions, Corpus Christi.
