Paris, je t’aime

We start our trip with a tour that will allow you to capture the essence of Paris by combining its most iconic landmarks, its rich history, and its vibrant culture. Enjoy and let yourself be enchanted!

  • Where to start? With the most characteristic symbol of the city: the Eiffel Tower. Built in 1889 for the Exposition Universelle, it has since become one of the most visited monuments in the world and the main symbol of this city. We recommend arriving early to avoid the lines and going to the top to enjoy panoramic views that will take your breath away. Another way to see the Eiffel Tower from a different perspective is by taking a cruise on the Seine River, preferably at sunset. Besides enjoying the splendor of this monument, you’ll also see some other Parisian landmarks like Notre Dame Cathedral and the Musée d’Orsay. But before that, stroll down the world’s most famous avenue, the Champs-Élysées, until you reach the Arc de Triomphe, from where you can get another panoramic view of the city from its observation deck.
  • If you want to soak up the art, history, and culture of this charming city, you can’t miss a visit to the Louvre Museum. To rest from your artistic experience, nothing better than a walk through the Tuileries Gardens. A landscaped area connecting the museum with the Place de la Concorde. The next stop on this tour is Notre Dame Cathedral. Although it’s under restoration after the 2019 fire, it’s worth walking around the exterior and exploring the historic Le Marais district. To end the day, continue your route to the Latin Quarter, known for its narrow streets, bistros, and bookstores; and the Panthéon, where figures like Voltaire and Marie Curie are buried.
  • To discover the elegance and modernity of Paris, make sure to book a ticket for the Musée d’Orsay, where you can see the best collections of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art. After the visit, enjoy the Luxembourg Gardens, an oasis in the heart of Paris, perfect for taking a break by its tranquil pond. And as a final touch, head up to the most bohemian neighborhood, Montmartre. Stroll through Place du Tertre, famous for its street artists, and visit the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, perched atop the hill, offering a spectacular view of Paris. Don’t miss the sunset from here—it’s a magical experience!

This is just an appetizer; Paris has much more to see and enjoy for all the senses. Place Vendôme, the Moulin Rouge, the Grand Palais and the Petit Palais, La Madeleine, the Bastille Opera, Île de la Cité… no matter where you walk, in Paris, you’ll find beauty at every turn.

In Paris, gastronomy is part of the experience

Meat stews, cheese fondues, wine, and its wide range of pastries make Paris and French cuisine a gastronomic reference. There’s a lot to choose from, but if you don’t know where to start, we make it easy with these suggestions.

  • Onion soup. Simple and with affordable ingredients, French onion soup is a delight. It’s made with onions fried with butter, oil, and Gruyère cheese. It’s usually served with a slice of bread and is ideal for cold days.
  • Snails. Escargots à la bourguignonne, prepared with butter, garlic, and parsley, are a classic of French cuisine that you should try at least once.
  • Ratatouille. A “grandma’s” dish made with various vegetables; eggplant, tomato, bell pepper, zucchini, and onion. Seasoned with oil, garlic, and aromatic herbs, baked in the oven… et voilà!
  • Croque-monsieur. You can’t leave Paris without trying one of these sandwiches filled with cheese and ham and gratinéed with Gruyère cheese. Finger-licking good!
  • Boeuf Bourguignon. This beef stew cooked in red wine with onions, mushrooms, and bacon is one of the most representative dishes of French cuisine.
  • And don’t forget… Quiche Lorraine, a board of French cheeses, Foie Gras, Raclette, Steak frites, etc. We’ve told you there’s plenty to choose from!

And Parisian sweets? We haven’t forgotten them; there are so many that they deserve a special section. To whet your appetite:

  • The unmistakable butter croissant, perfect for breakfast and to keep you energized all day.
  • Macarons. These delicate and colorful meringue and almond bites filled with ganache are a sweet delight that you can’t miss. You’ll find them everywhere, so it will be hard to resist.
  • When you go to a restaurant, save room for dessert; you have to try the Petit Four. A selection of pastries with varied flavors, the best way to end a good meal.
  • You can’t leave Paris without having eaten a Paris-Brest. A wheel-shaped pastry filled with mousseline or praline cream and topped with almonds.
  • And to finish the tour of Parisian sweets, the famous Éclair, an elongated pastry filled with cream and covered with chocolate.

You might end up with a sugar rush and feel stuffed, but at least your stomach will be very happy.

An unpredictable suitcase

The weather in Paris is unpredictable, so it’s always good to add a few “just in case” items to your suitcase to be well-prepared.

If you’re traveling to Paris in cold seasons, your suitcase shouldn’t be without a good coat, some thermal clothing, shirts, and leggings to wear under your pants if you’re very cold-sensitive. A hat, gloves, and a scarf are also essential, and for comfortable city exploration, some flat boots or sneakers, with thermal socks, will be much better!

If you’re going in spring or summer, besides the typical seasonal clothing, add some long garments; a shirt and long pants won’t be surplus, especially for the evenings as they can be cooler.

In general, Paris has variable weather, so it’s useful to dress in layers that you can remove or add depending on the temperature. Also, don’t forget you’ll be in Paris, the fashion capital, so why not add a chic touch to your tourist looks?

Paris, Paris, Paris… if you use these recommendations, we guarantee one thing: you’re going to fall in love with this city. We love celebrating our 15th anniversary with so much love!
